Belvidere, is the garden of Fine Garden Creations’ owner, Andrew Bunting. It is presented to you as if you were walking through the garden. The web pages are laid out beginning with the front of the house or The Front Garden. From there, imagine walking around the house, to the left. This would take you down the Side Gravel Path. Directly behind the house is The Formal Patio, which runs the width of the house. Standing on the patio, looking toward the back of the property, straight ahead, is The Lawn. To the left of the lawn, is The Long Border, a planting bed filled with unusual trees and shrubs, perennials, and in the summer, packed with the color of tropical plants, such as bananas, elephant-ears, sweet-potato vine. At the back of the property is The Pond and Shade Garden, and directly to the right of that, The Circular Patio. The next stop is The Potager, a fenced in kitchen garden. It is directly behind the garage, which is being renovated and will become The Summer House. The drawing for The Summer House planting beds and hardscaping is within The Summer House section. The part of The Summer House that opens out to the lawn has a small gravel garden, so we’ve called this The Summer House Gravel Garden. Also featured are Andrew’s Containers and the Seasonal planting added to the landscape for the summer. Since we are Zone 6, most of the time, we can plant tropicals around Mother’s Day and they last nicely until Halloween or later in mild years. Finally, Specialty, which includes any custom made ornamentation within Belvidere, such as gates, arbors, and even a custom-made mail box. By clicking on any one of these areas at the top of the page, you can navigate around the garden.
As this garden is always changing, please check back to see the evolution of a garden in progress. Andrew will be sharing his favorite plants: trees, shrubs, perennials, and container plants, which will be added to the website very soon.
